At Data Axis Consulting Limited (DACL), one of our priorities is turning research findings into practical conversations that improve service delivery.

This webinar focused on results and lessons from a mystery client survey on TB services in Nigeria, including what the evidence suggests about provider practices, adherence to standards, and opportunities to strengthen quality across private-sector service points.

The original Qualiquant post highlights the SHOPS Plus context and the role of private facilities, laboratories, pharmacies, and drug shops in TB screening and treatment pathways.

Why mystery client research matters

Traditional facility assessments and provider interviews are useful, but they may not always capture what happens during real patient-provider interactions. Mystery client / standardized patient studies help generate more realistic evidence on:

  • Provider behavior in routine conditions
  • Adherence to service protocols
  • Quality of counseling and referral practices
  • Practical service delivery gaps
  • Variations across provider types

Why this is still urgent

TB remains a major public health priority globally. WHO’s 2024 TB report underscores the need for sustained progress in diagnosis, treatment, and service quality, backed by robust data systems and country-level response improvements.

DACL’s role in evidence-to-action conversations

Beyond data collection, DACL supports clients by helping translate findings into:

  • Quality improvement recommendations
  • Training priorities for providers
  • Monitoring indicators for follow-up
  • Stakeholder discussions that inform policy and implementation decisions

When evidence is shared well, it can move from report pages into real improvements in service delivery—and that is the goal.
